Idea and Theme for Idents

I have decided on my 4 Ident themes; the theme is based around things coming to life, effectively turning boring things into fun and cool things. My first idea is to have an open maths book with some working outs on it and because what’s is boring the person who’s book it is will start to draw some stick men, then when he pull his pencil away the stick man comes to life doing lots of crazy things. This is the idea of turning boring on maths into something fun. Secondly, I thought about having a boy walking down the road with his phone then the camera looks down on the phone and on the texts he was about to send turns into some doodle fighting. Thirdly, I have come up with the idea of someone having to do a boring essay on the computer and then some of the essay starts to come to life doing random stuff. Fourthly the same sort of thing will happen but on a TV so someone will be watching the TV and they will turn it off and leave the room then the TV will come to life without any one turning it on. You can see some clear similarities running through the 4 Idents and I think they do all share a same theme and are all very similar.

This is the work that I enjoyed making the most because it was the funniest thing we made. It is not the worlds greatest animation but me and James really enjoyed doing it.

Danny darko

In the first shot of the scene we see a mid shot of the teacher. This shot uses the Rule of Thirds because the teacher is in the centre of the shot so she is the main focus.  This shot shows us where the scene is as behind the teacher we can see a chalk board which usually found in schools. The women also looks like a teacher with her glasses hanging down from her neck. In this shot the only person in it is the teacher which may show that she is most important person in this scene.

This shot is of Donnie Darko answering the question the camera zooms into his face as he answerd the question. This is done to show his facial exprsseion and to show that he is not interested in the class, the camera shot shows him sitting down showing he doesn't have as much status as the teacher does. In the scene you can see all the other kids on the background so there is someone in everything third.

.
In this shot you can see a long shot of the new girl which is from the teachers prospective. The new girl is the only other standing person in the room and all of the pupils are turned away from the teacher looking at her show that the teachers has lost her status and power for a short time. Rules of third are used in this with the new girl in the middle of the scene with all the other pupils in the other thirds looking at her. This demonstrates here power over the class at this time.

This is a screen shot from the shot when the camera is panning over the pupils and showing all the boys looking at the new girl winking at her giving her attention.  In this shot there are no Rules of Third because there isn't anyone in the middle of the shot just in the two side parts. The Mise en Scene is just four kids in the school uniform looking and smiling at the new girl.

The new girl has now sat down and there is another shot from the teacher's prespective and the attention is all back on her. Again, there is no Rule of Thirds and only people down the sides. The new girl sits next to Donnie Darko which may show that something might happen between them or that there is a perment divide between them shown metaphorically as the space between the desks.

Photo Montage

A 'Photo Montage' is a collection of pictures put together to create a short clip. In a 'Continual Edit' the shots have to look as if they were filmed in the same place and the same day, where as in a 'Photo Montage' it is non-linear and non-chronological. In this project, we were asked to recreate the 'Look' Photo Montage advert. We took around about 50 pictures, uploaded and imported them to iPhoto and transported to iMovie. We had to make sure that all of the frames were the same length and short enough to match to the length of the song. After, we downloaded the same music from the original advert, and combined the video with the song.

10 Shot Story

WWW- There was a good variety of shots used and continuity editing was also used.
WWW- We used a cut away which helped make a long clip become shorter but still telling the some story.
WWW- The video flowed well after we put all the shots together.

EBI- There was a lot of camera wobble on some of the shots so next time we need to secure the camera more.
EBI- We all needed to take turns doing the filming instead of just leaving it to one person.
EBI- We could have used a few more shot types instead of medium shot and close up.

This is also the work I am most proud of because it is the most professional video we have done over the whole induction.

Video

x5 WWW.

We effects that i put in did make the film look better even though it kept crashing.
We had a good selections of clips.
There were lots of different shot types.
We used lots of different equipment including the fig rig.
I learnt how to use the video maker program.

x5 EBI.

I may have used to many effects because I made the video program crash a lot.
Some of the shots were shaky and unrealistic.
It more effort could have been made on filming certain clips.
Some of the clips went on for to long.
It also didn't really make sense in places.
